KIDS-you can do hard things!!!

A lot of my posts have been more geared towards parents. Now, I am going to turn my attention to the kids--the students of our schools, the hard workers, creative geniuses, who have a knack for getting on parent's/guardian's nerves with or without trying š
There have been A LOT OF CHANGES recently. By A LOT, I mean A LOT! You no longer can go to school, see your teachers, friends, favorite EA's, go on playdates or sleepovers, go to dance class or hockey practice or whatever your sport or club may be. Your parents may now be stressed or frustrated or feeling many different things and working from home or still going to work because they have to. This week, you started school again, but this time instead of going to school and learning and being with your friends and teachers and everyone else, you now are learning from the computer or phone, maybe even talking to your teacher on video through a screen.
I want you to know that this is challenging for every single one of us. This is not easy. You are not alone. All of us have had to experience a lot of changes recently. Some of us have been able to handle it better than others and if you are having a really hard time, please ask for help. We are here for you--teachers, EAs, School Counsellor, Principal, parents, grandparents, anyone you know who cares for you. If you ask them I am pretty sure they will try their best to help....and if they can't or don't know how, that's okay too! Even us adults are asking for help if we don't know how to do something. If you don't know who to ask for help, please have your parents or guardians ask me (my email is kaitlyn.munn@nbed.nb.ca).
I am here for you and will always try my best to help you in whatever ways possible.
Remember to take things day by day, minute by minute. Do your mindfulness exercises as many times as you need to every day. Use your Zones and your strategies to stay or get back to the Green Zone.

Have time alone to yourself, try and do something other than watch tv or play video games all day each day, and remember to ask for help when you need it.
I am thinking about you and care about you all greatly!
Take care,
Ms. Munn
